Royal Lytham & St Annes

Introduction

Whilst at some clubs there are competitions on nearly all Saturdays and many Sundays, the balance struck at Royal Lytham is one that allows the players the cut and thrust of playing against the course in competitive golf on some Saturdays but also provides opportunity for the direct conflict of match play on others. This balance has much to commend it.

The competitions played for during each year are set out below. The indication of when they are played for is a guide - with the shifting dates for Easter and other factors, each year is different! Captain’s qualifying competitions are highlighted

  • The Silver Kettle - a Saturday late in March.

  • The Lancashire Fusiliers’ Cup - Good Friday

  • Easter Stableford - Easter Monday

  • Seniors’ Trophy - third Saturday in May
