Royal Lytham is often regarded as one of the toughest tests of golf in the world. Bernard Darwin, the leading golf writer of the thirties, described it as “a beast of a Course, but a just beast”. We encourage all visiting parties to play from the Green Tee Markers (for Men) and Orange Tee Markers (for Ladies) as we feel this will increase the enjoyment for golfers of all abilities.
To get full enjoyment out of your visit to Royal Lytham, we advise that handicaps are no higher than 21 for Men, and 30 for Ladies.
